To All the Retail, Bakery, Costco, Whole Foods Employees Working This Week…

…I wish you all well and hope for kind and patient customers for you.

I picked up my pre-made Thanksgiving meal from Whole Foods this morning and it got me thinking about picking that same meal up in Orange County. Today’s experience was much better, but in 2018 I went to pick my meal up in Laguna Niguel and the poor people working this pick up system were being verbally abused. People were yelling at them and rushing them and generally just being horrible. I got to the front of the line and thanked them and told them I was in no rush and they could get all the meals for others they needed to first. I apologized for all the horrible people as well. You know who got their food first? Me. You need to be kind to people (especially people that handle your food). They don’t make enough money to deal with you being a total jerk to them for things that aren’t heir fault. They can’t help being overwhelmed by a billion lazy customers like me who don’t want to make their own dinner. It’s part of the price you pay for the convenience. Also, Whole Foods is a big store where you can shop and look at pretty pasteries while you wait. So pick up a smoothie and be kind and patient while shopping this holiday week/weekend.

Costco employees bake like 1000+ pies per day this week to keep up with demand and offer you yummy pies at an affordable price. They work hard and are probably so sick of looking at pies and smelling pies – they probably dream of pies. Be kind.

You know why you need to be kind to retail workers this weekend. It’s a rough time to work retail with all the crazy bargain hunters like myself. They are working at max capacity so just offer a thank you and a kind word. It’s free to do so and it might make their stressful day a little better.

A little kindness goes a long way folks…Just saying.

I Buy Most of My Clothes…

…at Costco.

The clothes at Costco are cost effective and usually of pretty darn good quality. My pants I have purchased there lasted a lot longer then my designer jeans and they were a lot cheaper. It just makes sense! Also, shopping for clothes is part of what got in financial hot water in my earlier life so I avoid anything too pricey. I will sometimes splurge on a nice purse, but really that is about it on expensive clothing. Shoes are pricier in general and I usually get those on sale too. Honestly, I really gotta like something to pay full price for it. It’s just funny because I will buy folks nice and more expensive presents then I will ever buy myself. I wonder why that mindset is? We have talked about it in the past on this blog – just on my mind. Over the weekend I spent about $600 between birthdays and Christmas. You all know I shop early for Christmas since I can’t take that big a financial hit in one month, nor do I want to. There was some great stuff at Costco that is totally fashionable and functional. (not all the gifts were clothing items – that was mostly for me hahaha). I have never felt less then for this choice. I actually feel pretty good about it. 😉

HOT COSTCO TIP: If you were looking for the Hot Cocoa Bombs last year at Costco but found they were sold out – they are in stock now. Buy them now – great gifts. I was psyched to see them. I bought three boxes hahaha

29 Funny Costco Memes That Any Costco Shopper Will Relate To
So true! Especially for me yesterday.

Why are People Licking…

…weird things like toilet seats?

I have been seeing multiple weirdos posting videos of themselves licking super weird things – like toilet seats. WHY?! I mean the obvious answer is attention but is that really worth it? Is it a ploy to become some sort of weird influencer while most of what people can do is explore social media. But…I mean…under the best of conditions – why on Earth would you lick a toilet seat.

In other news – I donated blood today. This is something I do pretty regularly but it felt really good to do something productive with the extra time. Then I stopped at Costco to get the paper products that are hard to come by nowadays. I don’t want to be caught without toilet paper and no way to get it. When I arrived there was a long line but it moved quickly. It seems longer then it is because everyone has a cart. So I took a chance and got in the line. I got Charmin, Bounty paper towels, and Kleenex! I never thought I would be so happy to spend money on that stuff, but here we are. I am stocked on what I need and couldn’t be happier about that. It was a good way to spend part of my last okay paycheck and will hopefully see me through this pandemic. The people in line weren’t pushy. They weren’t friendly but not crazy either which is fine by me. I saw one of my volunteers while I was there which was nice and reminded me I once had a live and a job outside of this pandemic and gives me hope I will again soon. Maybe this Costco score was a good karma payback! Who knows.

Here’s to good karma…sorry this post wasn’t super exciting or emotional but that was my day and it was good. The world (and I) need every little piece of good available.
